Nordic Orienteering Tour offers orienteering, experiences and culture for the whole family. The event will culminate in a sprint orienteering on Thursday 16th June in the Old Town of Porvoo. The public has the opportunity to follow the fast race of world’s top orienteers in the beautiful scenery of Porvoo.
During the day the audience also gets a chance to participate in different kinds of happenings and explore the secrets of orienteering. HAAGA-HELIA public orienteering at 13-15 and 19-20.30 gives an opportunity for everyone interested to test their orienteering skills and compare their speed with international top orienteers in the same courses where the competitors orienteer at 9.00 in the trial of the World cup in Kokonniemi. The public orienteering works in the same way as the other fitness orienteerings in Porvoo region and the map fee is 5 Euros.
Exciting Children’s Treasure map orienteering provides an opportunity for adventure and excitement in Runeberg’s park at 15-19. At the same time there is a possibility to participate in Vartti Story orienteering which suits the whole family and leads them to the Old Town’s atmosphere from August Eklöf’s park.
Even before Thurday’s culmination there is a chance to get in to the atmosphere of orienteering when OK Orient organises Nordic O-Tour fitness orienteering on Tuesday at Haikko Mansion and on Wednesday at Hamari sports field.
Arts factory is also prominently present at the event. In the tent of Arts factory will be for instance a chance to make an own work of art. The students of Art factory’s dance school will perform between 17 and 18 o’clock. The potential companies of the Art factory will be presenting their operation, the Tourist info will introduce the services and attractions in Porvoo and local guides will wear their drama outfits.
Veikkaus offers the excitement to the competition day. In the winner bet’s SuperDouble the betting targets are both men’s and women’s competition winner and runner.
